The next Messy Church will be on Saturday 14 March 2026 in the Jubilee Room.
Not welcome at the party?
Have you ever had one of those gatherings where someone you really didn’t want to see showed up? That was the scenario behind February’s Messy Church. As usual, Jesus defied convention in the way he reacted to the visitor.
So we made food and placemats for the mealtime vibe, we experimented with perfume and lavender for the sweet smelling stuff the visitor brought, and we made footprints and washed feet for what the uninvited visitor did for Jesus. And we thought about love and forgiveness with cards and hearts also very suitable for Valentine’s Day.
Not to mention a parable about debts with chocolate coins, none of which made it out of the building….
The next Messy Church is on Saturday 14 March, the day before Mothering Sunday, and we’d really like to encourage people to come both to Messy Church (4.00 p.m. in the Jubilee Room at Christ Church) and to the special Family Service at 10.00 a.m. in church the next day. There will be lots of echoes of Messy Church, and lovely posies. Don’t feel you can’t turn up to just one, but why not try both?
If you have not been before, Messy Church is a different way of doing church. It’s a hands-on experience for all ages with craft, stories, songs and snacks.
Messy Church is for all ages and appeals particularly to families with children. Come along and say hello, whether you are a regular or it is your first time, everyone’s welcome, we would love to see you there.
