Kind hearts and … mini bread rolls?

The aroma of baking bread wafted through the Jubilee Room at Christ Church, as various youngsters tried their hand at shaping little bread rolls, which we then put into the oven and brought out in time for eating during the Bible story, of how Boaz kindly allowed Ruth to gather grain for bread from his field during harvest.

And kindness and compassion was the theme for the afternoon as we crafted rainbows and flowers, made friendship bracelets and seed collages, imagined constructing a school building with Lego, and hung prayer leaves on a tree. We even imagined what it was like building a den for shelter. We also took a quick look at the work of the charity Street Child as we remembered that God’s design is truly for people to help each other and look out for those who are down.
