Welcome to Christ Church Shamley Green
Christ Church has been inviting people to be part of our Christian family since 1864. And like all extended families we are made up of individuals from every generation, background, outlook and experience. We warmly welcome you to join us, be it on a regular basis or for a one-off visit or special occasion.
Our Church is open every day for private, individual prayer.
As part of our mission to serve the wider community in Shamley Green and Rowly we also hope you will find the links and information about local organisations, clubs and other groups helpful. If you have made the parish your home or if you work here or if you are visiting we hope you will make the most of what our friendly and caring community has to offer.
We also have two Hall spaces to hire, click this link for more information or email hall.hire@shamleygreen.church

On Saturday 22nd August 2026 at 3pm, friends and families gathered at Christ Church for our 3rd Big Hymn Sing. Two hours of wonderful Hymns lead by the our amazing Director of Music and organist Rob Blythe, supporting Cancer Research UK.
Rob reports "Thank you to everyone who came, sang and joined together for this afternoon's Big Hymn Sing 2026! Your winning hymn of 2026 is "Guide me, O thou great Redeemer" (Bread of Heaven). Here's what we sang and enjoyed, while raising over £560 for Cancer Research UK. Thank you to everyone who helped at the event to make it such a success. At our Sunday 10am Sung Communion service, we sung the best of The Big Hymn Sing".
Many many thanks go to Rob and everyone involved for such a brilliant afternoon, please see the results and the hymns we sang.
Looking forward to the Big Hymn Sing 2027, which hymn will be your number one! Maybe 'O Jesus, I have promised' 5 ways!!
You can still donate to this essential cause, please click on the logo above. Cancer Research UK was formed more than 20 years ago, in 2002. However, their history goes back much further, to 1902, with the founding of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Their pioneering work into how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer has benefitted millions of lives over the past 120 years.

Future Dates for the Diary
Daphne Hamilton & Suzy Brooke-Jones
We were saddened to lose our great friend and former Director of Music Daphne Hamilton on 8th July and another longstanding member of our church family, and friend to many in our village, Suzy Brooke-Jones on 13th July. Suzy’s funeral will be ‘family-only’ but those who know and love her will also know that her greatest wish would be that her friends would not grieve for her but get together and share a bottle of fizz to celebrate her life and, indeed, her new life in God’s kingdom.
Like her, Daphne had no fear of death and knew she was going to join the best choir ever.
The September 2026 edition of the Parish Magazine is now available to view.
How to find us:
There is ample parking for all types of motor vehicles in our car park at the top of Church Hill (B2128) - on the opposite side of the road to the church.
Stagecoach Bus routes 53 & 63 (Guildford/Cranleigh) The requested bus stop would be Shamley Green Red Lion. Follow the sign post opposite the Shamley Green Country Stores towards the Church.
Our church is also on the route of the Greensand Way (long distance public footpath) where it crosses the highway (Church Hill).
